Come to me. That's what he said. If you've got heavy burdens and if you're weary and carrying loads that are too much for you to bear, he says come. He says to give him your burdens and he promises to give you his own, which are easy, light and full of his rest. He says come.
He stands high above the crowd and he proclaims that if you're thirsty, then come. If you believe in him, then drink. The waters are yours.
I keep thinking of his rivers. I think of the rivers of justice and righteousness that flow from the throne room of God and I long to dip my parched and dry tongue into those holy, nourishing waters. I long for the streams that make glad the city of God.
Take me to that river. Lord Jesus, lead us to those rivers. We follow you.
